To My Four Male Readers: This One's Not Really For You

You guys, trying to get pregnant is the biggest roller coaster ride.

Or, to totally mix amusement park metaphors, trying to get pregnant is like trying to win that giant stuffed animal that you want, but instead you keep getting the consolation prize.

And, the prize is bleeding for a week.

So, I suppose it goes without saying that I am feeling a little disappointed at the moment.  I am sure that I will be feeling more sunshine-y soon, but for now, I have a date with a jar of Nutella and a spoon.

Homemade Peanut Butter Cups: Take 1

Peanut butter cups are one of the greatest loves of my life-- right up there with Mr. Kinne and dark wash jeans from Banana Republic.

So, it's surprising that I waited until this point in my life to make my own.

I tried this recipe from Rachael Ray, and they were pretty delicious, but they taste a little too much like honey.  I've seen other recipes with powdered sugar instead of honey, and those are next on my to-make list.

I'll keep you updated.

Lazy

Today's Make-Up Monday must be preempted, because I feel a deep desire to lay around and catch up on some Modern Family episodes with Mr. Kinne.

Please accept my sincere apologies and this picture of our cat:

A Look For Less

You should probably go to your local Target and buy this Merona dress:

First of all, it is only twenty dollars!

(Seriously, twenty dollars!)

Second, it looks a whole lot like this 70 dollar Lands End Canvas dress.

Third, it comes in so many colors, and it would work for so many occasions.

And, fourth, did I mention it is only twenty dollars?

Make-Up Monday: End of the Semester

Tarte's Lights, Camera, Lashes

I am thisclose to being done with my first semester of graduate school.

This means that I have been rushing to finish up reflections and portfolios and seven-page papers.

And, my classroom is a total disaster.

But, I found a dark, lengthening mascara that I really like.  So, at least my lashes will look amazing when I'm sleepwalking through the rest of this week.

Amazing

Seriously, you guys, did you see Glee last night?

I won't give too much away, but there was a kiss that made me swoon.

And, maybe the end of the episode made me cry. Just maybe.

And, maybe Santana wrote a song called "Trouty Mouth."

O.k., she definitely did, and it was awesome.

Letters E and F

This encyclopedia entry is sort of like a double issue of Entertainment Weekly, twice the glossy pictures and useless information!

The Letter E

Elf
I cannot watch this movie without cracking up... and maybe tearing up a little at the end.  I also quote my favorite lines all year long.
Does syrup have sugar in it? Then, yes!

Eggplant
Admittedly, I used to have no feelings about eggplant either way, but then I grew it in my garden, and I was so very impressed with myself.  Plus, I like any food that can be followed with the word "Parmigiana."

Etsy
I always feel a little bit cooler when I give someone a present and I can say, "Oh, I found it in a cute little Etsy shop...."

The Letter F

Futurama
This is one of the many shows that I never watched before I met Mr. Kinne, and now I've seen each episode approximately a million times.  (Because we spend so much time watching our favorite shows together, Mr. Kinne and I speak a sort of shorthand made up of t.v. quotes and bits from our favorite stand-up comedians).

Facebook
What did I do before Facebook? I cannot remember a time when I didn't spend hours posting pictures and updating my status and stalking people I used to go to high school with.

Fried Pickles
And, french fries.  And, really anything fried.
