I hope lots of adorable kids come to your door in costume!

Olive Oil Apple Pie
Not that I did that.
This morning.
Olive Oil Pie Crust
2/3 cup of extra virgin Olive Oil
2 1/2 cups of all purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup ice water
1 tbsp of vinegar
2 1/2 cups of all purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup ice water
1 tbsp of vinegar
Place olive oil in the freezer until it solidifies and is of a consistency similar to thick honey. (I only left it in the freezer for about an hour, but you're supposed to do a few hours. Mine came out fine.)
Once the olive oil solidifies place flour, salt and baking powder into a food processor and pulse a few times to mix. Add remaining ingredients and pulse until a dough ball forms. Place ball in an air tight container or plastic wrap and put in the fridge for an hour or so to chill.
Roll ball out until 1/8 inch thick and put into a pie plate. Use as you would a regular pie crust.
I used the apple pie filling recipe from the Better Homes & Garden cookbook, but you could put any filling you want in it.
Pie... breakfast of champions.

Let's Go to the Mall... Today!
At the Kinne house, we watch How I Met Your Mother like it's our job.
We quote the characters on a regular basis, and we even named Barney after the one-and-only Barney Stinson.
So, this year's costume?
Robin Sparkles, Canadian teen pop star.
I just wish I had a better Canadian accent... and more jelly bracelets.

Make-Up Monday: Sephora Friends and Family Sale!
(O.k., this one is predominantly for the ladies....)
It is the one time of the year when everything at Sephora is twenty percent off!
Just so you know, this year, the sale is only online, unless you actually have a friend or family member who works at Sephora.
Of course, you look gorgeous already, but just in case you'd like to shop, too, the coupon code is FF2010, and it is good through November 3rd.

Playing Catch-Up
I had my first observation of the year at school yesterday, and now I am feeling all kinds of relieved. It went really well, and I am a little more confident in my teaching abilities now.
However, after focusing on my observation all week long, I am also feeling like I am behind on life. (If you looked at my house right now, it would look like the "before" footage on Clean Sweep).
But, my big plan for today is to put the last-minute touches on my costume for tonight's Halloween party:

I am super excited for this one, and I'll post pictures soon!

On The Next 30 Rock...
Once upon a time, I worked at a summer camp in upstate New York with a lovely girl named Jen Ponton:
Well, my camp-counselor friend is now a hard-working actress in New York City, and she is going to be on 30 Rock tonight!
I plan to spend the entire episode saying, "Oh my gosh, I know her!"

Make-Up Monday: Lisa Eldridge Make-Up Tutorials
I have been known to kiss boys based solely on a good British accent.
(I mean, I was known to do this-- before I was an old married lady).
So, I might love these make-up tutorials because of the fab British woman who narrates them.
But, I also love them, because Lisa Eldridge, that same fab British woman, has the best tips I've ever heard for make-up application. I watched a few videos this weekend, and I've already tried out some of the techniques.
In fact, she is the reason that Mr. Kinne looked at me when we were walking out the door this weekend and said, "I like what you have going on with your eye area."
That is reason enough for me to keep watching.

Brown Boots, Brown Boots
Possibly because I told Mr. Kinne that I really wanted said little boots... in brown... in size 11... pretty please with sugar on top.
(Yes, size 11. My feet are like two boats).
They will look so cute with my Old Navy leggings.

Still Not Pants
But, leggings can be a perfect cold-weather layer, and this pair from Old Navy is my current fave.
They are like pajamas that you can wear to work.

Sir Hollington Eggplant, the Third
Of course, I did what any logical person would do, and I gave him eyes and a mouth to go with it.
I have also been pretending he's British and making him say things like, "Pip, pip, cheerio."
I am really lucky that Mr. Kinne puts up with me.

Make-Up Monday: Philosophy Apricots and Cream Body Lotion
Last time I took a trip to the mall, I noticed that they had added a new body lotion, and I had to test it out. When I first put it on, I thought it smelled great-- sort of light and fruity.
But, then!
Then, I was walking around the mall, thinking, "What smells like old lady?"
It turns out it was me!
This lovely fruity lotion smelled like a musty old floral perfume on me.
I wish Philosophy made their Senorita Margarita scent in a lotion, because that is my absolute favorite, and I would be totally o.k. with smelling like a drunk.

The Cuteness!
There are a few tiny people in my life who I think need a hoodie just like this one:
Baby clothes with ears get me every time.

I Heart New York
There is something restorative about a weekend in New York with good friends and cupcakes and a pug who looks like this:
